List of German ambassadors in India
From the start of international relations in 1951, the ambassador to India was also responsible for Nepal . The Ambassador in New Delhi is still responsible for Bhutan .
Between 1868 and 1886 only consular relations existed. In 1886 a consulate general was established. The seat of the consulate general was Calcutta until 1939.
