The list of German ambassadors in Sri Lanka contains the ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sri Lanka . The embassy is based in Colombo . The German representation in Sri Lanka was founded as a legation on December 9, 1953 and converted into an embassy on December 9, 1958. The German ambassador in Colombo is also accredited for the Maldives .
