Roman Götzmann

Roman Götzmann (* 1982 in Heidelberg ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and Lord Mayor of Waldkirch .

Götzmann studied political science , public law and economic and social history at the University of Mannheim . From 2006 he was state chairman of the Jusos Baden-Württemberg until he moved into the municipal council of Waghäusel in 2009. He was a member of this until 2011. After working in the city administration of Bruchsal , he became the office manager of the Baden-Württemberg Minister for Europe, Peter Friedrich . Since 2011 he has also been a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Baden-Württemberg .

In January 2015, Götzmann announced his candidacy as Lord Mayor of Waldkirch . In the election on March 15, 2015, he received 72.44 percent of the votes cast. With his inauguration on June 10th, he succeeded the previous mayor Richard Leibinger , who was also a member of the SPD and was no longer running for election.
