The Rosafleckige beef mushroom ( Hyphoderma roseocremeum ) is a Ständerpilzart from the family of Fältlingsverwandten (Meruliaceae). It has carpet-like, membranous fruiting bodies of pink-whitish color and grows predominantly on dead wood of deciduous trees . The species is common in large parts of Europe.
features
Macroscopic features
The pink-spotted bark mushroom has resupinate , membranous-waxy fruiting bodies typical of the genus Hyphoderma . They are whitish to yellow-loose colored, tinted pink and extremely thin. Their hymenium is smooth under the naked eye, the edge is not clearly contoured.
Microscopic features
As with all types of Hyphoderma , the hyphae structure of the pink-spotted bark fungus is monomitic, i.e. it only has generative hyphae . The 3–4 µm wide hyphae are hyaline , thin-walled and strongly interwoven, the septa always have buckles . The cystids are cylindrical, not encrusted and are around 80–100 × 6–9 µm in size, which means that they protrude slightly above the fruit layer. The basidia of the species are club-shaped to approximately urn-shaped, waisted in the middle, have four sterigmata and measure 25–30 × 4–6 µm. They have a buckle at the base . Their spores are cylindrical to narrow ellipsoid, hyaline and thin-walled. They measure 8–12 × 3–4 µm and are covered with oil droplets.
distribution
The known distribution of the species includes large parts of central and southern Europe, its area extends into the Caucasus region .
ecology
Hyphoderma roseocremeum grows on dead wood of deciduous trees , only in very humid conditions on coniferous wood . Preferred substrates are above all oaks ( Quercus spp.).
