Rose Kabagyeni

Rose Kabagyeni (born August 4, 1974 ) is a Ugandan politician ( NRM ) and a member of the Parliament of Uganda .

Life

Rose Kabagyeni graduated from Gikoro Primary School in 1987 in the Kisoro District , in the outer southwest of Uganda. She graduated from Seseme Girls Secondary School in Kisoro in 1990 with secondary school leaving certificate . At the Bukalasa Agricultural Training Institute in Wobulenzi , she completed an agricultural education, which she completed in 1995. She then worked in the Kisoro District Agriculture Administration. In 2000, she received a bachelor's degree from the Bukalasa Agricultural Training Institute . From 2007 to 2010 she was the head of the agricultural administration in the district, after which she graduated from the Uganda Management Institute in 2011 . From 2012 to 2015 she was an advisor to the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS), a subsidiary of the Ugandan Ministry of Agriculture. During this time, she achieved a Masters Degree in Agricultural Sciences from Makerere University in Kampala in 2014 .

Since 2016 she has been a member of the parliament of Uganda as a women's representative for Kisoro. In Parliament she is a member of the Agriculture Committee and the State Enterprises Committee.

When Uganda's Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura was arrested on June 13, 2018, she submitted a question to parliament about the reasons for the arrest. However, parliamentary speaker Rebecca Kadaga did not allow questions about detention. She was a member of the Ugandan delegation at the 139th Inter-Parliamentary Conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva in October 2018. A request from the Committee on Democracy and Human Rights to allow LGBT issues in parliamentary debates was rejected by the Ugandan delegation.
