Rosenvingiella is a green algae - genus from the class of Trebouxiophyceae .
description
Rosenvingiella - plants consist of single to multi-row, unbranched threads that are made up of cylindrical cells . These are wider than they are tall and each contain a single, star-shaped chloroplast with a central pyrenoid .
distribution
The genus occurs in temperate to polar regions on both hemispheres. Rosenvingiella species live above the splash zone of sea coasts or in terrestrial habitats , where they can be found on moist substrates such as soil , but can also colonize artificial hard substrates. They prefer locations with high nutrient input ; For example, the species Rosenvingiella radicans is often found at the foot of street trees or around lampposts where dogs urinate.
