Rose Nabinger
Rose Nabinger (born October 23, 1948 in Höchst im Odenwald , Hesse ) is a German jazz singer and honorary functionary . She mainly sings traditional jazz . She has most of the appearances with the jazz band Kreisjazzwerkerschaft & Rose Nabinger .
Live and act
Nabinger sang in American clubs in Frankfurt and the surrounding area as a teenager. She studied political science and geography in Heidelberg and at the Philipps University in Marburg until she passed her state examination in 1981. Since then she has lived in Marburg . She gives concerts and has participated in festivals and galas in Germany and other European countries.
She wrote the German text versions for several jazz standards and wrote Sankt Elisabeth (sung by Angela Wiedl ) to the music of Christian Bruhn . In 2015 she wrote Much Too Good, a special text on the title Sixteen Tons by Merle Travis , which deals with the gender pay gap .
Until 2001 she was the German representative in the Jazz Working Group of the Fédération Internationale des Musiciens in Paris . From 2001 to 2004 she was appointed by the then Minister of Labor Walter Riester to represent the full-time self-employed musicians in the Federal Republic for the field of music on the advisory board of the Artists' Social Fund. In January 2005 she was appointed again for four years, this time by Federal Minister Ulla Schmidt . Her appointment was made on the proposal of the members of the Union of German Jazz Musicians . The Ver.di federal congress elected Rose Nabinger in October 2003 in Berlin as deputy chairman of the federal commission for the freelance and self-employed.
In 2011 she was appointed to the Federal Committee for Music Authors of the German Music Council. In the same year she became a member of the assembly of the Hessian State Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media in Kassel. She is married to Heinz Teitge and has one son.
