The Rosebud Creek is an approximately 220 km long right tributary of the Yellowstone River in the southeast of the US state Montana .
River course
The Rosebud Creek arises at the confluence of the North Fork and South Fork Rosebud Creek . The two source rivers arise on the eastern flank of the Wolf Mountains . They flow 9 and 8 miles to the east, where they eventually join to Rosebud Creek. At the upper reaches of Rosebud Creek is Rosebud Battlefield State Park , which commemorates the Battle of Rosebud Creek in 1876. Rosebud Creek initially flows 50 km north. At Busby he turns to the northeast. It flows north again for the last 80 km. 2.5 km west of Rosebud , Rosebud Creek finally reaches the Yellowstone River. The river flows through Big Horn County and Rosebud Counties . The Rosebud Creek shows a strongly meandering behavior with countless river loops. The river flows through a dry steppe landscape. The fields are irrigated along the course of the river.
