Rosellerheide / Neuenbaum is the southernmost district of Neuss . It is located next to the districts of Rosellen and Allerheiligen in the statistical district of Rosellen and has 3558 inhabitants (as of 2016).

Geographical location

The district is located in a depression, in the west it is bounded by the Gohrer Berg, which represents the former bank of the Rhine, in the south and in the north moor-like areas are formed around the Norfbach and the Schwarzen Graben, demarcating Rosellerheide / Neuenbaum. In the south lies the Mühlenbusch, a forest area that extends into the suburbs of Cologne. Neighboring places are Allerheiligen , Rosellen , Dormagen-Gohr and Grevenbroich-Neukirchen .

history

The first documentary mention of the place (as Roselden ) comes from the year 1281. In 1323 it became the property of the Elector of Cologne . Great destruction took place in 1475 during the siege of Neuss by Charles the Bold and in the Thirty Years' War . In 1794 French troops occupied Rosellerheide and Neuenbaum, they came to the Mairie Norf. In 1815, Rosellerheide and Neuenbaum became part of the Rosellen community of the Norf mayor in the Neuss district in the Prussian Rhine province . In 1927 the mayor's office in Norf was renamed to Amt Norf . The incorporation to Neuss took place in 1975.

Bus lines 841 and 874 (approx. 35 minutes) go to Neuss city center, line 850 takes you to the Allerheiligen S-Bahn station, from where line S11 takes 30 minutes to Düsseldorf and 38 minutes to Köln Hbf moves. The tariff of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr applies .

  • The shooting festival is celebrated on the 4th weekend in June. The Schützenbruderschaft St. Peter and Paul Rosellerheide - Neuenbaum 1879 e. V. celebrated the 125th anniversary in 2004, when there was a pageant on Sunday with shooters from other brotherhoods.
  • The Tambourkorps Rosellerheide celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2006. The drum corps plays in Kapellen, Nievenheim, Neuss and in Uedesheim.
  • The St. Martins Committee Rosellerheide / Neuenbaum gives presents to the children in the two districts every year on November 11th. After a St. Martin's procession and a large St. Martin's fire, bags with wake-up men and sweets are distributed to the children. Each child can hand in a few sweets from their bag, which will then be donated.
  • In 2011 the men's choir "Haideröschen" celebrated its 100th anniversary.
  • The SV Rosellen offers some sports and activities for adults, teenagers and children.

  • The Evangelical Trinity Church on Koniferenstrasse in Rosellerheide was built in 1984. The three parts of the building are arranged in a semicircle around the church forecourt. The parish includes the villages of Rosellerheide, Rosellen, Allerheiligen and Gier.
