Roses of Danzig (Original title: Le rose di Danzica ) is an Italian drama film directed by Alberto Bevilacqua from 1979 . The main roles were played by Franco Nero and Helmut Berger . The film, which was co-produced by the Italian television broadcaster RAI , was released in 1979 and, two years after its appearance on RAI, was shown in an extended form as a three-part series ( mini-series ).

action

The action is set in Gdansk around 1919 . There the deserted Prussian general Konrad von Der Berg kidnaps the young nobleman Baron Erich von Lehner. After an initial enmity, a close friendship develops between the two, and the young Baron von Lehner finally takes care of the general's last will.
