Rosendo Alvarez Gastón

Rosendo Alvarez Gastón (born August 10, 1926 in Mués ; † February 3, 2014 ) was a Spanish clergyman and bishop of Almería .

Life

Rosendo Alvarez Gastón was ordained a priest on July 22, 1951 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Jaca on November 16, 1984 . The Apostolic Nuncio in Spain , Antonio Cardinal Innocenti , donated him episcopal ordination on January 12 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Gabino Díaz Merchán , Archbishop of Oviedo , and Rafael González Moralejo , Bishop of Huelva .

On May 12, 1989 he was appointed Bishop of Almería . On April 15, 2002, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
