Rosental is the main town in the Schrattenbach municipality in Lower Austria .

The village is located south of Grünbach am Schneeberg in the Grünbach valley. It was first mentioned around 1260 and historically had the names Rosetal and Rezlinestal , the latter referring to the personal name Ratzili .
