Ross the Boss is the German - American True -and- heavy metal - band of former Manowar guitar-player Ross Friedman .

history

The band met in 2005 after the Earthshaker Festival , where Friedman appeared on stage with his ex-colleagues from Manowar for the first time in 17 years . After this performance he was contacted by Oliver Weinsheimer and Majesty and Metalforce singer Tarek Maghary , who wanted to hire him for their “ Keep It True ” festival. At that time they established contact with the German musicians Patrick Fuchs (vocals) and Carsten Kettering (bass) from Ivory Night and Matze Mayer (drums), who was playing with Divinus at the time . After a few appearances in Europe with Manowar classics from Friedman's era, it was clear to the musicians that they wanted to continue playing in this formation.

In 2008 the band's first album, New Metal Leader , was created, which reached number 99 in the album charts in Germany. Many see the album title as a nod to the Manowar album Kings of Metal .

In 2010 her second studio album, Hailstorm, was released . It got numerous positive reviews. Among other things, it said, "The old and the new Ross albums are where Manowar could have been now".

In June 2011 they co-headlined the Gillmanfest in Venezuela. They also played at various festivals across Europe, including the Masters of Rock in the Czech Republic .

The band name

The name Ross the Boss is also Friedman's stage name, but here it stands for the band name. It is not Friedman's solo project, but it is made clear again and again that this is a band in which everyone enjoys the same rights.
