The Rot (also Wanger-Rot) is an approximately 18 kilometers long right tributary of the Wigger in the Swiss canton of Lucerne . The river flows through the Rottal in the constituency of Sursee , where it drains an area of ​​around 52 square kilometers. The Rot is one of the most important tributaries of the Wigger with an average discharge of 1.09 m³ / s.

It is not to be confused with the Rot , which flows into the Wigger via Seewag and runs through the Willisau office .

The Rot rises in the Obereichigwald at about 827  m above sea level. M. above the Sempachersee in the municipality of Ruswil and unites early with the Rot from the Ober Säliwald . The stream flows mainly in a north-westerly direction through Grosswangen and Ettiswil and flows into the municipal boundary of Ettiswil and Schötz north of Alberswil at about 511  m above sea level.
