Peter Willmann

Peter "Willy" Willmann (born 1944 or 1945 in Villach ; died in September or October 2012 in Mauritius ) was an Austrian tax officer and amateur actor .

Willmann played with he founded Hinterwinkler Kulturbühne or Salzburg's cultural scene more than four hundred times on Austrian and Bavarian locales to everyone by Hugo von Hofmannsthal and always took it in the title role.

life and work

According to the Kronenzeitung , Willmann “also organized the financial ball for years”. His enthusiasm for the theater text by Hugo von Hofmannsthal led to the fact that he initiated a production of Jedermann with amateur actors in Grödig near Salzburg, directed it himself and took on the title role. He used his own, streamlined text version and founded the Hinterwinkler Kulturbühne , often referred to as the Salzburger Kulturbühne . The performances initially took place on the Mayr-Melnhof 's estate at Schloss Glanegg .

As a result, his staging was seen on various open-air stages in many places in Salzburg and Bavaria , but also at the Rheingau Music Festival , in Mannheim and Vienna . Willmann managed to hire professional actors and later film and television stars for his project. For example, Hanna Schygulla , Lis Verhoeven , Jutta Speidel and Gudrun Landgrebe took on the role of mother, Otto Sander spoke the voice of God on tape. In the last few years Christine Neubauer embodied the passion . Eventually, they played in the historical costumes of the Salzburg Festival production from 1959. For nine summers the troupe made guest appearances in the Brunnenhof of the Munich Residence , most recently in 2012.

Willmann was by far the long serving Jedermann.

Personal

The Kronenzeitung also reports that Willmann and Indira , a woman from Mauritius , have a son named Amadeus and that his ashes were scattered in the Indian Ocean at his request for a "Hindu-Catholic farewell ceremony" .
