The Rotava (also Rotavský potok , German: Rothau , Rothaubach ) is a left tributary of the Svatava ( Zwota ) in the Karlovy Vary region in the Czech Republic .
Location and course
It rises in the Bohemian Ore Mountains on Jelení vrch about 1.8 km west of Přebuz ( early penance ). Here it crosses the granite from north to south and then turns to the southwest at the border with the phyllite . The river flows through the villages of Šindelová ( Schindlwald ) and the district Dolní Rotava of the eponymous town of Rotava ( Rothau ) and finally flows into the Svatava in the hamlet of Anenské údolí ( Annathal ). Here the Rolava has cut a notch valley that is more than 150 m deep .
