Rote Barat Laut ( German  Northwest Roti ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the administrative district of Rote Ndao (province of East Nusa Tenggara ). The main town is Busalangga . 21,855 people live in the district (2010).

Rote Barat Laut is located in the northwest of the island of Roti . In the north there is the Sawu Sea , in the east the district Lobalain joins, in the south the district Rote Barat Daya and in the west the district Rote Barat . The district is divided into 12 villages (Desa):

The lakes around Busalangga are part of the habitat of the last Chelodina mccordi mccordi , the western subspecies of the McCord's neck turtle . But here, too, the turtles are threatened with extinction due to illegal animal trade and loss of habitat.
