Rote Barat Daya ( German  Südwestroti ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the administrative district of Rote Ndao (province of East Nusa Tenggara ). The main town is Batutua on the Bay of Buka . 19,737 people live in the district.

Rote Barat Daya is located in the southwest of the island of Roti . In the south is the Timor Sea , in the north the districts Rote Barat and Rote Barat Laut join, in the east the district Lobalain . The district also includes the smaller islands of Pamana (Dana, Dona, Ndana), Helihana , Landu , Manuk , Batu Bibi and Liu . The district is divided into 13 villages (Desa):

The district is one of the areas where the last specimens of the Chelodina mccordi mccordi , a subspecies of the McCord's snake-necked tortoise, can be found . She lives by Lake Anak . Here, too, the turtle is on the verge of extinction due to illegal animal trade and loss of habitat.
