The Rote Kogel is 2832 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Stubai Alps in Tyrol .
It lies on a ridge that extends from the Hohe Villerspitze over the Lüsener Villerspitze ( 3027 m above sea level ) to the north to the Fotscher Windegg ( 2577 m above sea level ). To the west of this ridge is the Lüsen Valley . There is a starting point for climbing the Roten Kogel near Praxmar . To the east of the Roten Kogel, the Fotscher valley stretches out , where with the Alpengasthof Bergheim Fotsch ( 1464 m above sea level ) and the Potsdamer Hütte there are two further bases. This east-side ascent is also a popular ski tour in winter .
