The Rotgüldenseehütte is an alpine club hut located 1739 meters above sea level in the Hafner Group ( Ankogel Group ) on the Lower Rotgüldensee . It is owned by the Graz Section of the PES . It is a refuge in hut category 1 and offers 50 places to stay during the summer season, including 16 rooms and 34 mattress dormitories . The hut does not have a winter room , but there is an open emergency room.

history

In the 1950s, the Lower Rotgüldensee was dammed for the purpose of generating energy. In 1959, the Graz Section leased a building shed from the Salzburg Electricity Company and adapted it as a refuge . 1994–95 the dam was increased. The Section built a new hut by the lake, which opened on September 17, 1995.

Ascents

  • From the Arsenhaus ( 1341  m ), walking time 1 hour. The path is designed as a nature trail on the nature of the Mur valley.

The Obere Rotgüldensee ( 1996  m ) can be reached in 1 hour, the last section is secured with ropes and wooden ladders.
