in which the Rothbach rises

The Rothbach is the main right upper course of the Saußbach in the Lower Bavarian district of Freyung-Grafenau , which in turn flows over the Wolfsteiner Ohe and the Ilz to the Danube .

course

The Rothbach rises in Finsterauer Filz south of the Sandberg (1082 m) at an altitude of around 1,055 m in the Mauther Forest , flows over the cross-country skiing center Finsterau east past Finsterau in a southerly direction to the Waldmühle in the Hohenröhren district of the Mauth community . There it unites with the Teufelsbach coming from the left, which forms the border with the Czech Republic for about half of its course . The resulting Saußbach , sometimes also called Saußwasser , initially flows in the direction of the inflow of the Rothbach approximately south-southeast.

Tributaries

The tributaries of the Rothbach are insignificant and have no names on the map.
