The Triftweiher of the Teufelsbachklause |
The Teufelsbach ( Čertova vodá in Czech ) is the left main line of the upper reaches of the Saußbach in the Lower Bavarian district of Freyung-Grafenau , which in turn flows over the Wolfsteiner Ohe and the Ilz to the Danube .
course
The Teufelsbach rises with four source streams at around 1,165 m height in the Mauther Forest a few meters west of the German-Czech border, flows west past Bučina ( Buchwald ) in a southerly direction, further east past the Ebensteinberg and forms a length of 4.79 km the border between Bavaria and the Czech Republic. In its upper course, water from the Reschbach is supplied to it via the Schwellgraben built between 1820 and 1825 , which is dammed in a Trift pond in the Teufelsbachklause, which is located on a right tributary. It leaves the border at Hammerklause and flows on through the Teufelsklamm to the Waldmühle in the Hohenröhren district of the Mauth community . There it joins the Rothbach coming from the right . The Saußbach , sometimes also called Saußwasser , that was created in this way, flows in the direction of the inflow of the Rothbach approximately south-southeast.
At Bučina, the watercourse is crossed by a road closed to motorized traffic, which connects the state road 2127 coming via Finsterau with the road coming from Kvilda in the Czech Republic .
