The Rothenberg is a mountain in the southern Meulenwald to the left and north of the Moselle between Trier-Quint and Schweich-Issel in Rhineland-Palatinate , Germany. It has a height of 269.7 meters above sea level .
The name of the mountain comes from the rock Rotliegend .
State road 47 runs along the southern edge and federal road 53 runs parallel to it . The Quintbach flows on the eastern edge . The 791 meter long Meulenwald tunnel on the Moselle route runs through Rothenberg .
On the opposite, southern side of the Moselle lies the Kenner Flur , an area about three square kilometers that also includes a nature reserve .
