Roxana Díaz

Roxana Díaz ( Roxana Tomasa Díaz Sánchez; born May 17, 1981 in Havana ) is a Cuban sprinter .

In 2003, she won silver over 200 m at the Central American and Caribbean Championships . At the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo she won over the same distance and took silver in the 4 x 100 meter relay , and at the World Athletics Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis , she reached the semi-finals over 200 m.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens she was eliminated from the Cuban 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run.

In 2006 she managed a double victory in the Central America and Caribbean Games in the 200 m and in the 4 x 100 m relay. In the following year, she won the Pan American Games in 2007 in Rio de Janeiro over 200 m and won bronze with the Cuban 4 x 100 meter relay. At the World Cup in Osaka , she reached the semi-finals over 200 m.

In 2008 she won silver at the Central American and Caribbean Championships. At the Olympic Games in Beijing , she reached the semi-finals over 200 m and came with the Cuban team in sixth place in the 4 x 400 meter relay .

In 2009, silver over 200 m and gold in the 4-by-400-meter relay followed at the Central America and Caribbean Championships. At the Pan American Games in Guadalajara she was sixth over 200 m.
