Roy Sydney George Hattersley, Baron Hattersley , PC (born December 28, 1932 in Sheffield , South Yorkshire , England ) is a British politician .

biography

After finishing school, he studied at the University of Hull and then worked as a journalist and then as a civil servant in the health service.

However, Hattersley was clearly defeated by Neil Kinnock and instead became Deputy Chairman of the Labor Party and held this position until 1992. At the same time, he was a member of the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1983 to 1987 and then again for domestic policy until 1992 .
