From 2008 he first played for the second team of the Kickers, before he came up for the first time at the end of the 2009/10 season for the first team playing in the Regionalliga Süd . In the summer of 2015 Fennell moved to the promoted team and future league competitor Würzburger Kickers . In Würzburg he had 37 appearances in the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . There, under coach Bernd Hollerbach , he barely had any chance of playing and then terminated his contract shortly before the end of the summer changeover period in 2016 in order to move to third division club Hallescher FC .
After two years in Saxony-Anhalt, his sporting career led him to VfR Aalen in the 2018/19 season . In 35 league games he was able to contribute two hits as a regular, but rose at the end of the season with the team.
For the 2019/20 regional league season , the American moved to the second team at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , where he received a one-year contract. He started the season as a regular player and met his old team from Aalen on matchday 1, but lost 2-1 to TSG.
