Kate Gleason is a successful matchmaker from New York. She is commissioned by King Edward to find a wife for his son Sebastian before his 30th anniversary on the throne. When she has found the right woman, however, she realizes that she has fallen in love with Sebastian herself.

In the end, Sebastian Kate proposes marriage at the anniversary party.
