Rubén Rivera Corral (born May 3, 1985 in A Coruña ) is a Spanish football player .
Athletic career
Rubén started his career at Laracha CF before moving to the youth department of Deportivo La Coruña . There he came in 2004 to the second team, which played in the Tercera División (fourth highest division). In the seasons 2005/06 and 2006/07 they became champions, with 2006/07 promotion to the Segunda División was made. Furthermore, he was used once in the 2006/07 season with the first team. His debut in the Primera División was Rubén February 18, 2007 against the Levante UD . He played until the 56th minute and was substituted on for Adrián López . Under coach Joaquín Caparrós , the game at Estadio Riazor ended 0-0. The striker was not used in any other game in the highest Spanish league.
In 2008 he moved to Montañeros CF, where he again made it from fourth to third division in 2008/09. After three more seasons in Segunda División B, he moved to Austria for promoted Wolfsberger AC at the beginning of the 2012/13 season . He made his debut on July 25, 2012 against FK Austria Wien when he came on for Christian Thonhofer in the 78th minute . The striker scored his first Bundesliga goal on October 6, 2012 against SV Ried , when he scored the intermittent 5-1 in the 5-2 defeat in the Lavanttal Arena.
On July 17, 2013 Rivera moved to league rivals FC Admira Wacker Mödling , but could not prevail there. After only 8 games in the Bundesliga and one cup game, Rivera was loaned out by Admira to the Spanish club CD Leganés in Segunda División B during the winter break . There he played 7 league games by the summer, in which he was always substituted at the end of the game. After the loan ended, he returned to Admira, but was finally given away for free in the summer. He moved to Real Avilés in the Spanish Segunda División B. There, too, he only played 13 times (1 goal) before moving to league rivals FC Coruxo during the winter break of 2014/15 . There he came regularly from the start of the game and scored 5 goals in 18 league games by the summer, including a brace in his second game for his new club (2-2 against the B team of Sporting Gijón ). Despite his regular appearances, he only stayed with FC Coruxo for half a year and finally moved to the Tercera División for CD Boiro in the summer of 2015 .
