Rubén José Suñé (born March 7, 1947 in Buenos Aires ; † June 20, 2019 ) was an Argentine football player who experienced his career highlights with the Boca Juniors . His career began there in 1967 - he scored 32 goals in 186 games for the capital city club and also won a championship title and the cup. From 1973 to 1975 he was only briefly under contract with CA Huracán and Unión de Santa Fe. In 1976, the new coach Juan Carlos brought Lorenzo Suñé back to Boca Juniors, where he achieved almost all athletically achievable goals in the following four years with two championship titles, two victories at the Copa Libertadores and winning the World Cup. On March 17, 1971, Suñé was one of the participants in the game against the Peruvian club Sporting Cristal in the Copa Libertadores. In this scandalous game that has become legendary in South America, a mass brawl broke out between all the players on the field with the exception of Julio Meléndez and the two goalkeepers. The referee then sent all but two Boca Juniors players off the pitch. Suñé's career ended in 1981 with CA San Lorenzo de Almagro.

In 1969 Rubén José Suñé made his debut in the Argentine national team , but was used there only six times. In 1984 he suffered from severe depression but recovered and took a coaching job in the youth department of Boca Juniors.
