Welde made his international debut in 2005 in FIS races . From 2006 he started in the B-World Cup of Nordic Combined. At the Junior World Championships in 2006 in Kranj , he won the gold medal with the team. A year later in Tarvisio he won the silver medal with the team. In addition, Welde was able to achieve 8th place in the sprint and 12th place in Gundersen. On January 20, 2008, he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup in Klingenthal . A year later he was also able to win his only five World Cup points with the 26th place in Klingenthal, through which he ended the season 2008/09 tied with the Norwegian Thomas Kjelbotn in 70th place overall. Since then he has not had any success in the World Cup. Since then, he has only reached the podium several times in the Continental Cup.
In March 2012, Welde ended his active sports career after falling performance.
