Rudolf Fußi

Rudolf "Rudi" Fußi (born July 10, 1978 ) is an Austrian PR consultant, presenter , entrepreneur , political activist and cabaret artist .

politics

Fußi gained his first political experience with the Junge ÖVP , which he left in 1998. He then got involved in the liberal FPÖ spin-off The Democrats , who had formed an election platform with Richard Lugner's party The Independents . As party leader of the Democrats, he initiated the “popular initiative against interceptors” in 2002. It was successful with 624,807 signatures (10.7% of those eligible to vote), but the Eurofighters were still purchased. After the failure in the National Council elections in 2002 (0.05%), the party de facto dissolved or has not been active since then.

In March 2003, Rudolf Fußi joined the SPÖ . In 2006 he organized the moving image part of the election campaign for the (successful) National Council election in 2006 for the party with “Fairness-TV” . After Alfred Gusenbauer, whom he held in high esteem, was replaced as party leader by Werner Faymann in 2008 , Fußi moved more and more away from the party leadership. At the beginning of 2010 he founded the “SPÖ-Linke” initiative, which was supported by ex-Social Affairs Minister Erwin Buchinger and others and called for the party leadership to advocate left-wing positions and to end the “ grand coalition ”.

In February 2012, he announced in a public letter that he was leaving the SPÖ, sharply criticizing the politics and management style of Faymann and the federal manager Laura Rudas .

public relation

From 2006 to 2009, Fußi was the CEO of the listed Internet TV service provider webfreetv.com, and in 2010 he was PR head of the Austrian hedge fund Superfund and advisor to the founder and owner Christian Baha .

He then became "Head of Communications and PR for Central and Eastern Europe" for the Swedish company Electrolux . In 2012, he and two partners founded the PR agency mindworker.at , which specializes in corporate and political communication and of which he is the managing director. In October 2012, the agency, which received a lot of media attention, took over the advice of the Stronach team , whereby Fußi may also have contributed to the party in terms of content, but the cooperation was largely ended in April 2013.

Silberstein affair

During the 2017 National Council election , Fußi was a speechwriter and advisor to SPÖ Chancellor Christian Kern .

On October 6, 2017, it became known that during the Silberstein affair , Fussi had put pressure on an ex-employee of Tal Silberstein , who carried out translations for him in the SPÖ headquarters, via WhatsApp . Fussi suspected her to have leaked internal e-mail traffic to the outside world and threatened her: “You [the SPÖ, note] have your telephone logs. And complain your ass off. Anna, move. They will never give a rest [...] You never get out of there either. You're the only one who got all the mail. Believe me, you don't want to lead a life like that. Or do you think the party will leave you alone if you sink it? ”The former employee passed the news on to the Kronen Zeitung , which published it. The SPÖ distanced itself from it and condemned the procedure in a broadcast.

TV show, cabaret

Since the end of May 2017, he has hosted the talk show Fußi wants to argue on the Puls 4 channel .

Together with Gerald Fleischhacker , he developed the Rudi Fußi program - now I'm talking! A political advisor unpacks .

Since 27 February 2020 he hosted the weekly satirical late night - talk show Bussi Fussi to pulse 24 . Due to the economic situation, triggered by the Corona crisis (short-time work, budget cuts), Puls 24 does not see itself in a position to continue broadcasting the program before autumn 2020.

The talk show "Bussi Fussi - Life is not a pony farm" has therefore been produced in-house since May 21, 2020 and can be accessed directly on YouTube.
