Rudi Krausmann
Rudi Krausmann (born July 23, 1933 in Mauerkirchen , Salzburg ; † March 15, 2019 in Sydney ) was an Australian playwright and poet of Austrian descent.
Life
Rudi Krausmann studied business administration in Vienna for a few semesters and worked as a journalist for the Salzburger Nachrichten . In 1958 he emigrated to Australia , where he taught German, wrote as a freelancer and did programs for the radio stations 2EA-FM and 2SER-FM in Sydney. In 1975 he founded the magazine Aspect: Art and Literature , which he continued as editor until 1989 and which also produced the German Language Program on SBS Radio .
From 1969 onwards, numerous books were published by small publishers such as Wild & Woolley and Hale & Iremonger (Sydney). From 1989 to 1994 he was a translator (with Gerald Ganglbauer and others) and editor (with Michael Wilding and Gisela Triesch ) in the Australian branch Gangaroo of Gangan publishing . He then worked again with visual artists such as Gary Shead and Andrew Sibley , creating signed and limited editions of bibliophile prints. Krausmann lived in Sydney and traveled frequently to Europe.
