Rudolf Bussmann

Rudolf Bussmann (born June 21, 1947 in Olten ) is a Swiss writer and translator.

Bussmann studied German , Romance studies and history at the University of Basel with study visits to Paris and Berlin . After receiving his doctorate on the expressionist playwright Georg Kaiser , he worked as a teacher at various schools and colleges in professional and adult education. Since 1987 he has been working as a freelance writer, editor and translator in Basel and in the Jura .

Bussmann is a member of the Basler Poetry Group and President of the Basel International Poetry Festival . From 1982 on he was editor and, together with Martin Zingg, publisher of the Swiss literary magazine rotpunkt . In 2006 the magazine stopped its publication.
