Rudolf Egger (pedagogue)

Rudolf Egger (* 1959 in Deutschfeistritz ) is an Austrian educator and university professor .

Scientific career

Between 1979 and 1985 Egger studied pedagogy, sociology and business administration at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz and then worked for a year at the Volkshochschule Graz and the Institute for Educational Sciences at the Karl-Franzens University. In 1986 he became a contract assistant at the Institute for Educational Sciences at Karl Franzens University. He was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD.

From 1989 he had a research and teaching stay at the Free University of Berlin . His habilitation in pedagogy in 1996 was followed by a visiting professorship at Stockholm University in 1996 . In 2002 he was visiting professor at the University of Pristina . A year later he was given a professorship for further education at the University of Mainz, which he did not accept for family reasons. Since 2010, Egger has been Professor of Lifelong Learning - Lifelong Education at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz and head of the department for applied learning world research.
