Werner Lenz (* 1944 in Vienna ) is an Austrian educational scientist .

Life

Werner Lenz studied from 1968 to 1973 at Vienna University majoring in Education and a minor in political science and philosophy and a doctorate in 1973. Dr. phil. From 1972 to 1984 he was a university assistant at the Universities of Vienna and Klagenfurt . In 1982 he wrote his habilitation at the University of Graz . In 1984 he became professor for educational sciences with a special focus on adult education and head of the department for adult education and further training of the institute for educational sciences at the University of Graz. From 2007 to 2011 he was the founding dean of the newly founded faculty for environmental, regional and educational sciences at the University of Graz. Since 2005 he has been the spokesman for the doctoral college "Lifelong Learning", which is offered in cooperation between the Universities of Graz, Klagenfurt and the Danube University Krems . The retirement was made after almost thirty years of work as a university professor, September 30, 2012 found.
