Rudolf Kindle

Rudolf Kindle (born October 16, 1923 in Triesen ; † September 8, 2014 ibid) was a Liechtenstein politician ( VU ) and football official.

biography

Kindle was born in Triesen in 1923 as the son of construction foreman Julius Kindle and his wife Blandina (née Hoch) and had two siblings. He attended primary school in Triesen and then from 1937 to 1940 the secondary school in Vaduz . In 1940 his father had a fatal accident while transporting hay. Since there was no social security such as widow's pension or orphan's pension at that time, this meant a serious turning point in the life of Kindle's family.

From 1942 to 1945 he worked in the railway workshop in Feldkirch . He then worked from 1945 to 1950 at Hilti AG in Schaan as a commercial clerk and then from 1950 to 1985 at Elastin-Werk AG in Triesen. His last position there was Head of Human Resources. When the company closed in 1985, he was instrumental in ensuring that Swarovski AG took over the business with all employees. From 1985 to 1989, Kindle was a member of the management of Swarovski AG. He also served as the company's vice director.

In addition to his professional career, Kindle was also politically active in his home community. From 1957 to 1960 he was a member of the Triesen municipal council for the Patriotic Union. From 1962 to 1969 he was a mediator and from 1969 to 1987 he held the office of mayor of Triesen.

From 1960 to 1969 he was a judge at the criminal court and from 1966 to 1969 President of the Liechtenstein Football Association . However, he resigned from these offices in the course of his election as community leader.

Within his party he was Kindle President of the Seniors Union from 1990 to 2005.

Kindle was a citizen of the municipality of Triesen. He was married to Olga Büchel (1925-2008) since 1947. The marriage had three children. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Princely Liechtenstein Order of Merit and was an honorary member of the Patriotic Union, the Liechtenstein Football Association and FC Triesen . In the latter he was active as a football player and was a member of the board for 20 years. He was also a delegate of the Eastern Switzerland Football Association.
