Rudolf Kohl (born January 10, 1895 in Neustadt an der Haardt ; † August 8, 1964 in Hofstetten ) was a German politician ( KPD ).

After the First World War , Kohl worked as a typesetter in his learned profession . In 1918 he became a member of the USPD and in 1923 of the KPD. From 1924 to 1929 he was their representative in the city council in Leipzig . From 1928 he was unemployed for political reasons. He was only employed as a commercial clerk in 1936. In 1941 he went to Essen and in 1942 to Mannheim for Stahlwerk Mannheim AG, where he became a personnel officer after the Second World War.

In 1945 he was head of the municipal housing office in Mannheim and a member of the Mannheim advisory board for the KPD. From December 16, 1946 to July 27, 1948 he was Minister of Labor in Württemberg-Baden in Reinhold Maier's cabinets . After Willy Feller's dismissal as reconstruction minister in Rhineland-Palatinate on April 7, 1948, he was the last KPD minister in West Germany. After he had demanded at the May rally in Stuttgart that the works councils be given the same rights to influence the company as the company owners, criticism of him increased, which ultimately led to his dismissal from office.

Kohl had been a member of the Provisional People's Representation for Württemberg-Baden since February 1, 1946 and was elected to the Constituent Assembly in June 1946 through constituency 16 (Heilbronn) . In November 1946 he was elected as a member of the state parliament of Württemberg-Baden , to which he belonged until his resignation on March 15, 1950. He was a member of the German Bundestag from January 26, 1950, when he replaced Robert Leibbrand , until the end of the first legislative term in 1953.
