Rudolf Mayer

Rudolf Mayer (born October 13, 1837 in Nová Hospoda near Skránčice , Zavlekov municipality , Okres Klatovy , Bohemia ; † August 12, 1865 in Loučim ) was a Czech poet and writer .

He attended high school in Klatovy and then studied law in Prague and Vienna . In 1864 he wrote his doctoral thesis there. He was a representative of the Májovci .

His poetry was among the best of the time. His poetry collections were published by a friend only after his death. His collected works were published in 1951.
