Rudolf Mendel
Rudolf Mendel (born October 18, 1907 in Berlin ; † December 13, 1979 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).
Mendel attended Mommsen-Gymnasium and did a commercial apprenticeship at AEG . During the time of National Socialism he was persecuted and committed to forced labor during the war .
Mendel became a member of the CDU as early as 1945. In the Berlin election in 1950 he was elected to the district council of the Wilmersdorf district. In February 1955 he moved up to the Berlin House of Representatives , as Ottomar Batzel was elected as district mayor of Wilmersdorf. Mendel was active in parliament for 24 years, since 1975 also as chairman of the main committee .
Mendel was honored several times, for example in 1977 with the Great Federal Cross of Merit and in 1979 with the Ernst Reuter plaque .
