Rudolf Mumenthaler

Rudolf Mumenthaler (born September 2, 1962 in Burgdorf BE ) is a Swiss library scientist and has been director of the Central and University Library in Lucerne since 2017 .

Life

After studying history and subsequent doctorate at the University of Zurich , Mumenthaler first worked as head of the special collections at the ETH-Bibliothek in Zurich from 1997 , before taking over the management of marketing and innovation management there in 2009. In 2012, he was appointed professor for library science at the University of Applied Sciences in Chur . In August 2017 he took over the management of the Central and University Library in Lucerne .

Mumenthaler is, among other things, on the board of the Swiss Information Library and co-editor of the magazine Informationspraxis .
