Rudolf Nirk

Rudolf Nirk (born October 11, 1922 in Ravensburg ; † August 25, 2010 in Heidelberg ) was a German lawyer, author and attorney at the Federal Court of Justice .

Life

Rudolf Nirk took part in the Second World War as a submarine commander and began studying in Tübingen in 1946 . After working at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law , Rudolf Nirk was admitted to the bar in 1953 and before the Federal Court of Justice in 1963 . Rudolf Nirk was a member of the board and for five years Vice-President of the Bar Association at the Federal Court of Justice, member of the board and vice-president of the German Lawyers' Association (DAV), chairman and honorary chairman of the association of lawyers admitted to the Federal Court of Justice and chairman of the GVG / ZPO legislative committee of the DAV. He was co-editor of the Neue Juristische Wochenschrift .

In addition to his work in commercial and business law , he also published in the field of sports law : his own rules of skiing created in 1964 formed a basis for the rules of conduct for skiers of the International Ski Federation (FIS) adopted in 1967 .

Nirk was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, was honorary professor at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and was awarded the German Bar Association's Badge of Honor.
