Rudolf Peppmüller

Rudolf Peppmüller (born November 13, 1843 in Minden ; † June 16, 1911 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German classical philologist, educator and rector in Seehausen and Stralsund.

Life

After his first lessons in Minden, he attended the Thomas School in Leipzig from 1852 . From 1862 he studied classical philology at the University of Halle , where he received his doctorate in 1868. phil. received his doctorate. He received his first position as a teacher at the newly founded municipal high school in Halle and became a senior teacher here in 1884.

In 1886 he was appointed director of the Seehausen municipal grammar school . In 1889 he went to the Stralsund grammar school in the same position . Due to illness, he retired in 1904 and moved to Halle.

Peppmüller wrote numerous philological works and essays in specialist journals and school programs ; Franz Kössler mentions 47 publications by Peppmüller alone.
