Rudolf Pohle (lawyer)

Rudolf Pohle (* 1902 in Frankfurt am Main ; † June 29, 1967 in Munich ) was a German lawyer and professor at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München .

Life

Rudolf Pohle was born in 1902 as the son of a private lecturer at the Frankfurt Academy for Social and Commercial Sciences and later Professor for Political Science at the University of Leipzig Ludwig Pohle (1869–1926) in Frankfurt am Main . Rudolf Pohle began to study law and political science at the University of Graz in 1922 , which he did in 1926 after stays at the universities of Munich and Leipzig. completed. In 1930 he received his doctorate under Richard Schmidt in Leipzig. Pohle had previously successfully completed a banking apprenticeship.

As a result, Pohle initially worked as an assistant judge, later as director of the civil procedural law department at the Leipzig Regional Court , from 1933 to 1945 as an advisor for civil procedural law in the Reich Ministry of Justice , although from 1939 he had to do military service until the end of the war. After his release from captivity and a short time as an appellate judge in Bamberg, Pohle accepted a professorship at the University of Erlangen . From 1947 he held the chair for civil law, civil procedural law, bankruptcy law and voluntary jurisdiction. He also held a lectureship in civil procedural law at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . From 1950 to 1952 he was rector of Erlangen University. He left this chair in 1954 and moved to the University of Munich, where he taught and researched until his death in 1967.
