Rudolf Radecke (born September 6, 1829 in Dittmannsdorf near Waldenburg ( Silesia ), † April 15, 1893 in Berlin ) was a German composer , choir director and music teacher .

Life

Rudolf Radecke studied from 1850 to 1851 at the Royal Institute for Church Music in Breslau and then until 1853 at the Leipzig Conservatory. He lived in Berlin from 1859 and was a teacher there from 1864 to 1871 at the Stern Conservatory . From 1864 to 1868 Radecke was the conductor of the Cäcilienverein and from 1869 owner of his own music institute and conductor of the Radecke'schen choral society.

His younger brother Robert Radecke (1830–1911) was also a conductor and musician in Berlin.

Rudolf Radecke died in Berlin in 1893 at the age of 63. He was buried in Cemetery III of the Jerusalem and New Churches in front of the Hallesches Tor . Piled rocks serve as tombstones.
