Rudolf Reiss

Rudolf Reiss (born February 28, 1862 in Bretten , † September 27, 1930 in Berlin ) was a German pharmacist and entrepreneur .

Life

Reiss completed his school days and pharmaceutical training in Heidelberg . He then studied at Heidelberg University , where he passed his state examination in pharmacy in 1884. He completed his military service as a one-year volunteer in Karlsruhe . He also worked at the TH Karlsruhe in the laboratory of Engler and in the botanical institute at Just.

In 1888 Reiss moved to Berlin . A year later he received his doctorate. phil. He then took over the Marienapotheke in Augsburg , which he sold again in 1895. He moved back to Berlin and founded a chemical laboratory. In 1902 the company “Dr. R. Reiss, Rheumasan and Lenicet Factory ”. The company got its good reputation with the preparation "Rheumasan". Many other medicinal products such as the Ester Dermasane, the Lenicet preparations and the Buccosperin followed. In 1908 a branch of the company was opened in Vienna .
