Rudolf Schrader

Rudolf Schrader (born June 17, 1908 in Uehrde ; † April 1, 1991 ibid) was a German farmer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Schrader was born the son of a farmer. After graduating from the reform grammar school in Braunschweig , he first completed an agricultural apprenticeship in a large company in the province of Saxony . He then took up studies at the Higher Agricultural School in Potsdam and the Humboldt University in Berlin , which he finished with the examination as a state-certified farmer. He then worked for several years in a managerial position in agricultural operations in the Uckermark and Neumark . In 1936 he took over the management of his father's company in Uehrde. From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . He was first used in the artillery, then worked as a business leader and finally switched to infantry. In May 1945 he was taken prisoner by the Soviets, from which he was released in autumn 1945.

After his release from captivity, Schrader continued his work as a farmer. He participated in the development of agricultural organizations in the Wolfenbüttel district and became chairman of the rural people in Lower Saxony . He was also a member of the sugar market association in Hanover , chairman of the supervisory board of the Aktien-Zuckerfabrik in Schöppenstedt and a member of the supervisory board of the North German sugar refinery in Frellstedt .

Political party

Schrader had been a member of the CDU since 1947.

Schrader was a member of the district council of Wolfenbüttel . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957. In parliament he represented the constituency of Wolfenbüttel - Goslar-Land .

Public offices

Schrader has been mayor of the community of Uehrde since 1948.
