Rudolf Sonndorfer

Rudolf Sonndorfer (born April 14, 1839 in Böhmischkrut ; † December 4, 1910 ) was an Austrian commercial scientist .

Life

Rudolf Sonndorfer was born the son of a businessman in Lower Austria and studied in Vienna . In 1860 he received the qualification to teach mathematics, descriptive geometry and machine science at secondary schools. In October of the same year he began teaching at the Vienna Scots fields Oberrealschule at which it was in 1861 later as an assistant and one year for Supplenten (assistant teachers) appointed. During this time Sonndorfer wrote scientific papers in the fields of astronomy , mathematics and geometry .

Because of his work on the brightness of the asteroids Sonndorfer was appointed teacher extra statum ( professor ) in 1864. In 1869 he was elected district school inspector and in 1871 a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament. Until 1879 he was a professional member of the Lower Austrian state school board .

From 1872 Sonndorfer worked as a professor at the Vienna Commercial Academy and published scientific works in the field of world trade , some of which received international attention. In particular, his technique of world trade , which achieved several editions, also became the subject of trade-scientific debates in the Anglo-American region. Further teaching and administrative activities at the Academic Commercial Middle School (Vice Director), the Commercial College, the Technical University and the Consular Academy in Vienna followed.

Rudolf Sonndorfer was buried in the family crypt at the Hietzingen cemetery .
