Life

Rudolf Spolders studied at the Technische Hochschule zu Berlin and the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen , where he also worked on increasing the performance of an experimental shaft furnace by adding carbonic acid and / or water vapor and oxygen to the blowing wind. to Dr.-Ing. received his doctorate.

From 1923 to 1942 he worked at Wanheimer Eisenwerke , then director and board member at Deutsche Eisenwerke AG . From 1957 he became involved in nuclear technology at the Battelle Institute in Frankfurt .

In 1953 he was one of the first members of the first electricity committee of the Gesellschaft für Stromwirtschaft eG (GfSt). In 1957 he became a member of the advisory board of the VDI main group technology history. In 1957 he became chairman of the Association of German Foundry Experts. Until 1960 he was a member of the advisory board at Ruhrstahl AG.

On November 21, 1957, he was appointed honorary professor for foundry technology in the Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy at RWTH Aachen University .
