Rudolf Strommer

Rudolf Strommer (born June 10, 1958 ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and mechanical engineer. From 1999 to 2020 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag and from 2005 club chairman of the ÖVP Landtag Club.

education and profession

After primary school in Wallern, Rudolf Strommer attended secondary school in Pamhagen for two years and then switched to the Bundesrealgymnasium Neusiedl am See for two years . Strommer then completed the HTL for mechanical engineering in Eisenstadt . In 1977 he passed the Matura at the HTL Eisenstadt and studied four semesters of business and business informatics at the TU Vienna . Strommer did his military service as a one-year volunteer in Kaisersteinbruch and remained a temporary officer at the Bruckneudorf military training area until 1984 . Strommer is currently a militia officer with the rank of captain.

politics

Rudolf Strommer was a councilor in Illmitz from 1987 and on the council from 1992 to 2006. Between 1993 and 2000 he was a member of the board of the WLV Northern Burgenland. Strommer is deputy chairman of the Illmitz tourist office and has been the ÖAAB district chairman in Neusiedl am See since 2004 .

Rudolf Strommer was a member of the Burgenland state parliament from 1999 and was elected club chairman on May 19, 2005. Strommer was in the XIX. and is in the XX. Legislative period Member of the main committee (deputy chairman), the agricultural committee, the EU committee, the finance, budget and budget committee (chairman) as well as the committees for petitions, law and social affairs. Strommer was the ÖVP area spokesman for the areas of tourism, security, Europe, senior citizens and general club affairs.

After the state election in 2020 , he left the state parliament , and Georg Rosner was elected as his successor as second state parliament president.

Private

Strommer has been married since 1985 and has three children born between 1991 and 1995. At home in Illmitz , he has been with the local fire department since the 1970s.
