Rudolf Strunz

Rudolf Strunz (born June 24, 1881 in Vienna , † January 12, 1936 in Linz , Upper Austria ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Rudolf Strunz was born in Gaudenzdorf , in 1881 still an independent municipality, today part of the Vienna district of Meidling . After attending the elementary and community school, Strunz learned the profession of lathe operator . In 1914 Strunz was elected secretary of the metal and miners' association for the federal states of Upper Austria , Salzburg , Tyrol and Vorarlberg , a position which he held until 1933.

From 1914 to 1917 Strunz served as a paramedic as a soldier in the First World War .

His political career began in November 1918 when he was in the council was elected by Linz. At the same time he moved into the Upper Austrian state parliament as a social democratic member . Strunz was a member of both bodies until 1920. In December 1920 he was sworn in as a member of the National Council. He left parliament only after ten years, in October 1930.

After a two-month break, Strunz moved to the Federal Council in December 1930 , to which he was a member until February 1934.
